6. The Gibson Flying V
This modernistic electric guitar found its place in the talented hands of Lonnie Mack, Dave Davis, and Jimi Hendrix. The original model of this Gibson guitar was made using korina or limba wood from Africa. If you take a look at the prototype of the Flying V, you will find that it comes with an input plate and black pickguard instead of the white trim found in the original models. While only a total of 98 Flying V’s can be considered original, this Gibson model gained popularity later on when dealers started showing off these musical instruments on their windows.
